Educating

Michael has brought his 13+ years of comics making experience to education spaces with families and at Primary, Secondary and Higher Education spaces.

Through the act of cartooning, Michael’s sessions have encouraged engagement with social history, art history and museum & gallery collections. Participants learn and develop creative writing and drawings techniques of memoir, non-fiction and genre fiction. Institutions he has taught for include Barber Institute of Fine Art and Ikon Gallery.

He has guest lectured about his work at universities and has mentored graduates for their comics projects.

He is currently developing his practice as an educator and exploring different ways in which he can teach comics in the U.K.
